Why “Demeter”?
In Greek mythology, Demeter is the goddess of the harvest — of abundance, nourishment and the turning of the seasons.
We chose her name because it describes what we set out to do: bring a good harvest — from the sea and beyond — to the people who cook, serve and sell food in Hong Kong. For us, a good harvest means the right product, in the right condition, at the right time.
Built on relationships
Our business has grown through direct, personal relationships with the customers and suppliers we work with every day. This website is simply a new way to reach us — the service behind it stays the same: straightforward, responsive and focused on quality.
Today we import, process, wholesale and retail premium seafood and food, with three core categories: fresh local seafood, Japanese seafood and Japanese chicken.
Our partner in Japan
Most of the Japanese products we supply come from our partner in Japan, Azuma Kaisan (有限会社 東海産), a seafood processor and wholesaler in Tokushima Prefecture established in 1972. Working closely with a partner at the source means we know how our Japanese products are made and can bring them to Hong Kong with care. Visit Azuma Kaisan’s website
